MG8240 Series
Engineered for demanding industrial environments, the MG8240 operates reliably up to 380 °C and 160 bar. Its high-strength borosilicate glass and mica sealing ensure structural integrity across the full 300 mm to 1700 mm measuring range. This makes it ideal for pressurized vessels in petroleum, chemical, and power applications.
The gauge delivers a completely clear measurement display without blind spots, enabling direct visual reading of actual liquid levels. Performance remains unaffected by changes in medium bubbles or gas-phase composition. It is suitable for liquids including acids, alkalis, petroleum, and liquefied gases.
All wetted parts are manufactured from 316L/304/316 stainless steel with optional graphite sealing materials. This construction ensures long-term stability when exposed to strong acids, alkalis, and other corrosive fluids. The simple structure allows for easy disassembly, flushing, and routine maintenance.
The upper and lower valves feature built-in safety balls that activate automatically upon accidental glass damage. When internal pressure exceeds 0.2 MPa, the steel balls instantly seal the process medium to prevent leakage. This self-acting system enhances operational safety without requiring external power.

The MG8240 Series High-Temperature and High-Pressure Glass Plate Liquid Level Gauge is designed for direct visual level indication in extreme process environments. With operating temperatures up to 380 °C, pressure resistance up to 16 MPa (160 bar), and a measuring range of 300–1700 mm, it provides reliable and safe liquid level observation for pressurized industrial vessels.
In oil and gas processing, the MG8240 is widely used in storage tanks, separators, and pressurized process vessels where high temperature and high pressure coexist. Its high-strength borosilicate glass and side-side installation design ensure stable performance in harsh upstream and downstream operations. The automatic steel-ball sealing mechanism provides critical safety protection in the event of accidental glass damage.
Key advantages:
Pressure range 0–16 MPa (160 bar)
Temperature range -40 ~ 380 °C
Steel ball automatic sealing (>0.2 MPa)
In chemical processing, the MG8240 is suitable for monitoring corrosive liquids such as acids, alkalis, and organic solvents. The wetted parts are available in 316L/304/316 stainless steel with optional graphite or PTFE lining, ensuring strong resistance against aggressive chemical media. Its simple structure allows easy flushing and maintenance in continuous chemical processes.
Key advantages:
Wetted materials: 316L / 304 / 316 SST / graphite / PTFE lining
Fluid viscosity ≤ 0.15 Pa·s
No blind spots, clear visual display
In power generation plants, the MG8240 provides reliable level indication for boiler drums, feedwater heaters, and condensers operating under high pressure and temperature. The gauge withstands thermal shock and mechanical vibration while maintaining clear visibility. Its robust seismic and impact resistance makes it ideal for critical power infrastructure.
Key advantages:
High-temperature endurance up to 380 °C
Strong seismic and impact resistance
Side-side installation for easy integration
In food and beverage production, the MG8240 is used for visual monitoring of liquid levels in tanks and processing vessels containing beverages, beer, and aqueous solutions. The transparent glass plate enables direct observation without contamination risks. Stainless steel construction meets sanitary requirements while ensuring long-term durability.
Key advantages:
Transparent direct visual observation
Stainless steel sanitary construction
Simple structure, easy to clean and maintain
The MG8240 uses high-temperature, high-strength borosilicate glass combined with mica sealing material, enabling stable operation at temperatures up to 380 °C and pressures up to 160 bar (16 MPa). Compared with ordinary glass level gauges, this construction offers superior thermal endurance and mechanical strength, ensuring reliable visual level indication in boilers, pressurized vessels, and extreme process environments.
The MG8240 provides a completely clear process measurement display without blind spots, allowing operators to directly observe the actual liquid height inside the container through the glass plate. The transparent visual interface is unaffected by changes in medium bubbles or gas-phase composition, enabling accurate level recognition even under harsh working conditions.
Yes. The MG8240 features stainless steel wetted parts (316L / 304 / 316 SST) with optional graphite or PTFE lining, which significantly enhances resistance to strong acids, alkalis, and other aggressive chemical media. This makes it suitable for chemical, petrochemical, and environmental protection processes involving corrosive fluids.
The MG8240 is equipped with an automatic steel-ball sealing mechanism in both the upper and lower valves. If the glass plate is accidentally damaged, the steel ball instantly seals under the internal container pressure (when greater than 0.2 MPa), preventing liquid from splashing out of the container. This self-acting protection minimizes leakage risks and enhances operational safety in high-pressure systems.
The MG8240 is typically side-mounted on pressurized containers, storage tanks, and process vessels using flange connections. It is widely used in industries such as oil & gas, chemical processing, power generation, metallurgy, food & beverage, and marine, where direct visual liquid level monitoring of transparent media is required under high-temperature and high-pressure conditions.
